NOH2O - Review

NoH20 was purchased through LivingSocial. NoH20 is a waterless car wash. It's difficult to schedule car washes. You never know when it's going to rain, because we all know that the weather people are not exactly accurate.
I scheduled through e-mail, but the week of the scheduled time rained. Maybe two or three weeks later, Mike called and said he could come by the day of. He came to my work place. Mike came with his sister-in-law, Kim, and they cleaned the interior, tires, and exterior. I had asked them to clean the inside of the windows for an extra charge (because it wasn't part of the livingsocial deal).

All in all, Mike and Kim did a great job! I love the convenience of them coming to my car rather than sit there and wait for it to be done. I can be working while they clean. It was awesome.
The car was shiny when they were done, the interiors looked great! They put all my stuff in a little bag (that I had in the car).

I rate NoH20: 4.5 out of 5.

I wish the whole thing wasn't so last minute, so I can get the car seats out of the car.  Overall, I'd call them again.

Simply Clean Home and Business - Review

Another cleaning service that I had purchased was from Simply Clean Home and Business through Groupon.
I e-mailed Erica Snyder, who is the owner, in June. She called me in the morning the next day to set up an appointment in July. -- but I had to reschedule later. I e-mailed Erica again to reschedule to August.
She e-mailed me to reschedule to August 27.

August 27 came. No one showed up at the schedule time. I called and left a message since no one picked up. I e-mailed, and no responses.

I e-mailed Groupon to let them know about the situation. They said they would get back to me in a few days.  A week passed and no response from Groupon, I e-mailed them again.  They apologized for the late response due to the holiday weekend (Labor Day) and that they're waiting on to see what is going on.  Next day, Groupon e-mails me saying that Simply Clean Home and Business Groupon is no longer valid. They issued me a refund.

I'm sure you can take a pretty good guess on how I am going to rate Simply Clean.

I rate Simply Clean Home and Business: 0 out of 5.

Celebrity's - Review

I had purchased a $10 voucher from Celebrity's Sidewalk Cafe through Muncharoo. We actually have been to Celebrity's. It's one of our family's favorite places to go. When I saw the deal, I knew I had to get it!

Celebrity's is really close to the I-35 and 119th Street exit. It's a parking lot away from Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Office Max. I believe it's next to a dollar store, I can't remember what it's called. Dollar General, I think.
The place is fun. They have movie posters everywhere, hand sketches of famous people, and your order number isn't just a number! It's someone famous! They'll call out 'Julia Roberts' or 'George Clooney'. It's fun to see which celebrity you're going to get!

These are the items that I have had there:
Philly Cheese Steak called Star of the Show
Alaskan Salmon Burger
D has had their grilled cheese and hot dog.

They have some of the best fries around too!

The place is definitely family friendly.

One problem though. Since I get cold super easily, in the windy/cold days, do not sit near the door. They have an walk in/vestibule area before the main dining area, the door is directly in front of the wall opening to the seating area. When anyone opens the door, the wind blows in... right on to you. So, if you can, sit in the booths, you might miss the chill of the breeze.

I rate Celebrity's Sidewalk Cafe: 4.5 out of 5.

If you are driving by I-35 and 119th, you should stop by Celebrity's!

Webster House - Review

Webster House was from Groupon. It was a $50 Groupon.
Webster House is in the Crossroads Arts District.  It is next to the beautiful Kauffman Performing Arts Center.

I decided to use it for S's birthday in July. I made reservations at 6:30pm.

We arrived a little bit early, about 6:10pm. I'm not sure how much you know about Webster House. There is an antique shop on the main floor that you walk in. There are so many neat things. Since we were early, we browsed through the shop. When we were there, they had vases, dining ware, tables, mirrors, etc. There was even a fountain! It was neat looking all the variety of things. I'm sure when you go, there would be different items.
We sat down about 6:35pm, not too bad. There was a birthday party going on in the main room. There was so much going on, but it was okay. It didn't really affect the mood or anything. We sat in the same room as the kitchen, which S and I love. We love watching that kind of stuff.
Our waitress was incredibly friendly.

His meal:
Shrimp and Grits for starter
Pear salad -- I can't remember the name, and it's not on their menu anymore, but I think this was what it was called (mixed greens, red onions, pears, blue cheese, and champagne vinaigrette)
Grilled Beef Tenderloin (Summer vegetable salad, bacon, Roquefort dressing and port wine sauce)
Lemon Tart for dessert

My meal:
Mussels for starter (Cider, bacon, dipping bread)
Pork Shank (kale -- i LOVE kale, mashed potatoes)
Vanilla Bean Crème Brulèe

S and I have different tastes in food. He like grits, and I don't. He likes blue cheese and I don't [like the 'moldy' cheeses]. He likes fruit for dessert, and I prefer to have chocolate/ice cream/etc.

S absolutely love [and still talks about] his shrimp and grits.
He loved the pears in his salad, and felt that the dressing was mixed just the right amount. It was not heavy or overwhelming like some salads.
He actually wanted the bass, but it was soldout that night. So, he went with the beef tenderloin.
He loooved his lemon tart!

I absolutely loved my mussels. S doesn't care much for mussels. After I ate everyone, used the bread to soak up the broth, I used a spoon to get more. I couldn't get enough! It was amazing!
The pork shank... wow. so tender, so delicious. the meat was so easy to chew. S loved his beef, but liked mine more.
The crème brulèe was made just right. Some places still have it runny when you take bite, and that's not right. But Webster House had made it perfect. It had just the right about of vanilla, perfect consistency, and the top was just the right amount of crispy.  I think if no one was around, I would have picked up the bowl and licked it! Haha!

We both also had a glass of wine to go with our meals.

I consider Webster House fine dining. We usually go to one on our birthdays and around Christmas for date nights. We usually splurge when we go to these sorts of restaurants.

In the end, we really enjoyed our night. We loved our meals, loved the atmosphere, our waitress, and ... pretty much everything.

I rate Webster House: 5 out of 5.

Take A Break Massage Therapy Spa - Review

Take A Break Massage Therapy Spa was from Living Social.  I had gotten the hour massage with a half an hour of AromaSteam.
I got it mostly because it was close to my work, and I can just stop by after work.  That is what I did one Friday. I had set up my appointment online, which I like.  Anything that I can do online than calling makes it easy on me.
I had set up my appointment with Breanna about two weeks in advance.

My appointment was the last one of the day.
The location of Take A Break Massage Therapy Spa is in an old strip mall, it almost look like apartments. I can't say the building is the newest building, but it's alright. The exterior could be worked on, but that's not the businesses fault.
The lobby was really dark. Not like the usual spas that I have been to that is full of windows. It was a little too dark for my taste. There were two ladies at the counter. I was greeted when I went in, filled out the massage form that you usually fill out. I hung out with an incredibly large fish that kept staring me down in their lobby. It's funny, and I found the fish quite fasinating.

I enjoyed my massage, I don't mind chatting while I lay there, but I don't mind napping either. haha. So, Breanna and I chatted a little bit, probably for 15-20 minutes during the beginning of the massage.
I really thought Breanna did a great job.

As for my AromaSteam, the power kept going off. I think it went off 4 times. Twice before I even got in, and twice while I was in it. To be honest, it made me a little nervous because of how dark the place is and I was the only one there. There weren't any lights, just light ropes at the top edge of the walls. Breanna had to bring a flashlight to check what was wrong every time. Needless to say, it was a little awkward.

Finally, she took me to a different one, which worked, and I got my half an hour steam. It was nice, but not my thing.

All in all, I enjoyed my massage. Breanna was great.

I rate Take A Break Massage Therapy Spa: 4 out of 5.

*The decorations/lighting/etc. could be worked on, but keep the fish! The dark feeling made me a little uncomfortable when something went wrong.
