Referral Program for Ni-Chern Designs

Pic Source
I have started a referral program for Ni-Chern Designs. I know there are sites that can help with this. Since I'm starting out, I just wanted to throw this out there and see how it does, and if it's successful, then we will all jump for joy!

OK, so here it goes.

To be part of the referral program, you must have at least purchased an item from the shop at the original price, this is usually your first purchase.

Then for each person that you refer, you receive 5% off of one item (excludes shipping). When you accrue the percentages, you do not have to use the discount all at the same time and/or the same item.

Example:
Sally referred four of her friends.

She receives 20% off total of one item. But she decides that she wants to use 10% off of one item, and 10% off of another item a month later.

Make sense?

The person that you refer, they must let me know who referred them. This way, I would know who to give the discount to.

I will keep a list of who and how many you have referred. ... What if my computer crashes?! No worries, I will save the list on my Cloud drive.

That's it! Start referring to get your discounts!
Yay!!

New Cell Phone Pouch

Have you seen the new cell phone pouch?

I have revamped it a few times.

I'm going to show you my thinking/trial and error process

This is the first one:

I didn't like the extra space above the cell phone. Just didn't look right to me.

I updated it by making that part smaller... this is the one that I tested with...

I really liked it! We went to the farmers market one Saturday morning, and I didn't have an arm or hand to hold my bag, so, I just brought this. I hooked it to my belt loop, and was still able to have my stuff on me, and hold the boys' hands!

I loved it until... I had to start digging for change.

So, I updated it one last time, and I LOVE it even more!
front

back
I added a zipper on the back of the pouch to hold the stuff that I need to get to often or stuff that I don't want to dig for, like change.

Let me know what you think!

Craft Apron Pattern on sale now!

Did you know that the craft apron pattern is now on sale on my Etsy and Craftsy site?

Yep! You can now make your own craft half apron!
The picture says it all, in completing the apron, you'll be able to put in a 9" zipper, wrap around ties, belt loops, and 6 pockets!

I created one for myself a while back, and I didn't have the belt loops, and boy, did that apron keep sagging on me! It was to the point of annoyance! So, I created belt loops for the ties to keep it from sagging.

I'm excited to present this pattern!

Tou can purchase it for only $8.50 at Etsy and Craftsy.

As always, if you have any questions or comments about the pattern, don't hesitate to contact me!

Toddler or Travel Pillows now in shop

You know how I have a tutorial for toddler pillow covers, right? If you didn’t, it’s right here.
I realized that some people may find it useful, but some, who do not have a sewing machine, know how to sew, etc. may want to purchase one.

I now offer the pillow covers in my Etsy shop.  It does not include the pillow, you can choose between 7 different types of fabrics.

Made to Order Custom Toddler / travel size pillow case cover

I did say to allow 3 – 5 days for me to make, but if you need it sooner. You can always contact me; I can usually make it within 24 hours.

In the descriptions, I mentioned what kind of pillow I have purchased for my boys.  The pillows are from Home Elegance. The reason why I like them is that they are non-allergenic and machine washable.  I also noticed that they don’t go flat as quickly. I don’t remember what brand I used before, but they were poly-fil, and they went flat within a week.

So if you don’t have time, know how to sew, or have a sewing machine, now you have an opportunity to purchase this super cute pillow!

New Items and discount code

At my day job, we are required to have an ID to go to the offices/rooms. The lanyards that they had given us wasn't very comfortable on my neck, especially when I wear non-collar shirts.
I decided to sew together a lanyard. I made myself a green one. I call it... the Green Lanyard. LOL, you know, like Green Lantern. Ohhhh... I'm so cheesy! Anyway, I tested it out for a few weeks before I decided to make more to sell.

I'm very excited to introduce my new items for the shop! Fabric lanyards! I offer two different lengths. Short and long.

I use cotton fabric with a light interfacing, and attached a metal steel swivel hook to it.

The approx. dimension of the short of the fabric is about 16 - 17" and the fabric of the long is about 21 - 22"
The swivel hook is about 2"

I will be posting new lanyards all this month!

Now for the discount!!
For the month of October, Save 10% on your purchase of listed lanyards when you post "Green Lantern" in the 'message to seller'! Since Etsy doesn't do coupon codes for certain sections of my shop, I'll just have to send you the partial refund you after the fact. I know, it's a pain, but I want to give you a discount! *the fine print that is not so tiny -- discount is only for listed lanyards, does not apply to custom orders of lanyards*

Check out the shop to see what I have in stock now! www.ni-cherndesigns.com

Yellow Tote and Craft Show

I'm a little late posting this.

This week was a little hectic. I was trying to prepare for the Shawnee Arts & Crafts Fair.

Cindy with FabTabulous and I shared a booth. If you don't know Cindy, you should! She's one of the sweetest person you'll ever meet, and she's the best booth partner anyone can have! This is our second time sharing a booth.
Here is our booth:

I love the way Cindy presents her items!!

I made a new tote for the show, but didn't take pictures of it... because I sold it at the show. I took pictures before it went to its new home.
The difference between this tote and the purple totes are that this one has feet on the bottom and a tab for closure. I should have its twin finished by this weekend.

I'm also working on patterns, and needing pattern testers.

Not too eventful weekend, but busy!

What did you work on this week?

This weeks' project

I finally finished this week's project!

Finished a medium pouch, small pouch, key pouch, and extra small pouch.
Excuse the bad lighting, I was too excited to take a picture!

I'm thinking about renaming the sizes of the pouches:
medium pouch to large pouch
small to medium
extra small to small.

Donating to Art Unleashed, Part 2

I made a new tote... this is the first one, and it will be donated to Art Unleashed. ...
I've been doing some tote sketches to add to my shop collection. Couple nights ago, I started cutting fabrics, etc. Started at 9pm, shortly after the boys went to bed. Then it was getting pretty late, I looked up at the clock in the craft room and the hands said it was midnight... only to find out that the batteries were dying, and it was actually 2am!!
So, I was like, Well, I'm up this late already, might as well just finish it. Thinking that it'll take me another hour.  Nope, I did not finish it until 445am. Got into bed at 5am. Got a 2 hour power nap. went to work........................ not as a productive day since half of my brain was still asleep!

Then later finding out that I have strep. Ugh. What a week, already!!

I will be keeping a distance from everyone for a few days until it's "safe" to interact with other human beings!

Oh yes, so what do you think? Love to hear some feedback on how to make it perfect for you!

I created a new clutch style. It's a very simple one.

Phone not included! ;)

The wristlet part may be tucked into the clutch itself, if she chooses not to use the wristlet part.

Losing Keys

I started making key fobs about 4 years ago. This is going to sound silly on why I started making them.

I took a day off from work one Friday. I really don't remember why, I think I had something going on. I thought that I would go to Target, and get a few things. You know, run errands before stores get too busy.
As I walked by the clothing area, I stopped by and looked around, glanced, picked up a few clothes, put it back on the rack, etc... I walked around the grocery side, cleaning supplies, etc. After I was done looking, shopping, I walked to the registers, and realized... oh no! my key! where is it?! At this time, my key was just on a split ring, I usually put it on my finger... it was gone! I had absolutely NO idea where I put it! I was panicking! I back-tracked where I walked, looked at the clothes that I looked at, went through the grocery area, the cleaning supplies, etc... no where. I was totally freaking out at this point. I'm a bit paranoid too, I was thinking the worst... what if someone took the key and is stealing my car RIGHT NOW!... totally not probable, but you never know!... right? lol.

I went to customer service, the lady said they'll let me know when it shows up. I was still panicking.
So, I called Steve, at least I had my phone on me! He came by with a spare key and I drove home... freaking out to myself. I seriously called that Target like every half an hour! I was sure that they were tired of hearing my voice!
It was about two hours later, I called again, and they said that they found it. It was hooked onto a hanger!
The key must have been on my finger, and it slipped onto a hanger. Oh my goodness!

Yes, this is my silly story of losing my key at Target.

Below is the picture of the fabric I have for the key fob that I am currently using. This is the second key fob that I've used since the crazy panicking moment at Target. Now I have another for all my member cards. They're easy to find in my bag, and I can just put it on my wrist and still have it in my hand.

Whenever I get the boys from their car seats, I can loop it on my wrist without trying to figure out where to put it (especially if I'm wearing a dress)!

Don't be like me and lose your keys!

From now to April 15, use code "KeyFobs" in the message to seller, and I'll refund 20% of your total key fob purchase!  Don't put it in the Coupon Code, it won't work, make sure you put it in message to seller! I'll refund it after the purchase! I promise!

Buy one for yourself, buy one for your friend, buy one for your mom or sister!  Stop by the shop and pick out your favorites!
